The name "RINC 2" is a homage to a past rink initiative run by Paul Rogosheske and Pete Sampair β two community champions who shared the same dream decades before us. Their group was simply called RINC. So when Brandon Sampair and Alex Rogosheske got together, they got really creative and came up with the name RINC 2.
The reason for the homage runs deeper than nostalgia. It's about the acronym that Mr. Rogosheske and Mr. Sampair originally created:
"Recreational Ice and Neighborhood Center"
β The original meaning of RINC, coined by Paul Rogosheske & Pete SampairWhich is exactly what we want our Civic Center to be β a multi-use facility and a place where the entire community gathers.
Why We Are Here
This isn't just about ice. It's about building a place where the entire Mahtomedi community gathers, grows, and thrives together. Our vision is a true multi-use civic facility β inspired by the beloved community arenas found up North, where the building isn't just for hockey. It's the heart of the town. A place people gather for all seasons, all ages, and all occasions.
The Mahtomedi Civic Center will be that place for our community.
We are committed to providing access to turf fields for rent during spring and fall seasons β giving the community year-round use of premier athletic space.
A multi-use civic center is only limited by the imagination of the community it serves. Beyond sports and recreation, the possibilities for what this space can become are endless.
